A motorcycle crash Saturday night involving a deer has unfortunately resulted in a fatality in Worth.
County roads in Worth are well known for deer crossings and deer related crash incidents. Worth County medics worked incessantly Saturday night to save crash victim Joshua ‘Ryan’ Williams of Bonaire, GA. Although they were successful in regaining a pulse, Williams died Monday night due to injuries sustained in the crash. Cont’d below:
The incident occurred just south of the Isabella-Terrell intersection on Hwy 112N (near Shingler area). around 11:15 P.M.
A small group of cyclists were traveling together when a deer crossed their path and Williams’ bike struck the animal.
Rains had subsided but due to overcast conditions, Air Evac was apparently unable to lift-off in response effort. CPR was performed by first responders WCFR Capt. John Graddy and Lt. Jerry McDonald until EMS arrived on scene. Graddy and McDonald joined Paramedics Amanda Parton and Irving Hall in the medic unit and the team successfully resuscitated Williams en route to Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital in Albany. He remained in critical condition at the hospital until he died nearly 48 hours later.
Williams was only 34 years of age.
