A Number of Drug Arrests Recently

Ronnie WalkerOn January 31, 2013 at 9:00 a.m., members of the Sylvester Police Department drug unit with assistance from other members of the Police Department executed a search warrant at the business of 103 East Street.   Ronnie Iverson Walker (West Road Poulan, Ga) has been arrested and charged with 2 counts of Sale of a Schedule II narcotic (Hydrocodone) and 2 counts of sale within 1000 feet of a public park.  Also arrested during this investigation is Vonnie Newberry (Curtis Street Sylvester, Ga.) with 1 count of Sale of a Schedule II narcotic (Hydrocodone) and 1 count of sale within a 1000 feet of a public park.

On February 1, 2013 at 1:00 p.m., members of the Sylvester Police Department drug unit, with assistance from other members of the Police Department and member of the Poulan Police Department executed a search warrant at the residence of 108 Curtis Street.  Kevin J. HooksKevin Hooks (Curtis Street Sylvester, Ga.) has been arrested and charged with Obstruction of a Law Enforcement officer, Possession of a firearm during the commission of a crime, Possession of a Schedule II narcotic (Hydrocodone) with intent to distribute and Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute.  Also charged during this search warrant is

 

Quantavis Hooks (Cecil Street Sylvester, Ga.), charged with Possession of a firearm during theQuantavis Hooks commission of a crime, Possession of a Schedule II narcotic (Hydrocodone) with intent to distribute and Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute.  Approximately 2 ounces of Marijuana, a quantity of Hydrocodone, 2 handguns, and $864.00 was recovered during the search warrant.

On February 2, 2013 at 02:15 a.m., Lt. George Hall of the Sylvester Police Department arrested Moses Moses BarberBarber (8th Street SW Moultrie, Ga.) for fighting inside of Club Celebrity at 212 South Main Street.  Upon arrest, Barber was found to be in possession of 22 small baggies of suspected Marijuana and a quantity of ecstacy.  Barber was charged with Disorderly Conduct, Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute and Possession of Ecstacy with intent to distribute.
On February 4, 2013 at 12:53 a.m., Patrolman Kenneth Eaton of the Sylvester Police Department, made a traffic stop on Martavious WilliamsWest Franklin Street near Monroe Street in Sylvester.  The driver of the vehicle entered the parking lot of the EZ Corner Central and attempted to flee on foot.  After a brief foot pursuit, Martavious Dejun Williams (Pecan Street Sylvester, Ga.) was arrested and found to be in the possession of 25 small baggies of suspected Marijuana.  Williams was charged with Obstruction of a Law Enforcement Officer and Possession of Marijuana with intent to distribute.

OTHER SYLVESTER / WORTH COUNTY ARRESTS (January 1 – February 4)

Shannon D. Cooper of Sylvester was charged with disorderly conduct.

Ladavious D. Wiggins of Tifton was charged with possession of marijuana, carrying a pistol w/o a license, carrying a concealed weapon, and obstruction of an officer.

Precious J. Rickey of Doerun was charged with simple battery (family violence)

Michael Sindy, Jr., 20, of Albany was charged with burglary, child molestation, enticing a child for indecent purposes, sexual battery, false imprisonment, kidnapping and obstruction of an officer.

Andrew R. Harris, 17, of Poulan was charged with theft by taking.

Homer C. Peters of Sumner was charged with aggravated assault and terroristic threats and acts.

Dakota S. Lee, 17, of Sylvester was charged with weapons at school.

John E. Fulmore, Jr. of Sylvester was charged with 2-counts deposit account fraud.

Dusty W. Wade of Cobb, GA was charged with disorderly conduct.

Patrick Wardrop of Sylvester was charged with theft of services.

Robert L. Aikens of Moultrie was charged with obstruction of an officer, aggravated stalking and criminal interference with government property.

Wendy C. Marlin of Albany was charged with theft by deception.

Criminal Court was recently held in Worth County: John T. Deguire was indicted September 2012 and sentenced January 18th for computer child exploitation.

Carlton Crawford of Poulan was indicted January 28th in a 2009 case for 2-counts of arson and terroristic threats. He will serve 12-months probation and a fine of $250 on a misdemeanor charge.

Joshua A. Molina pled guilty to a 2011 charge of burglary. He was sentenced 1/18/13.

Richard K. Michaud was sentenced on January 28th to 15 years, to serve 10 in jail time and five on probation, along with 70 hours community service for charges of child molestation and enticing a child for indecent purposes.

Earnest Terrell Jr., 38, of Sylvester, was charged January 29th with abandonment of dependent child support by Tift County Sheriff’s Office.

Donald Christopher McLendon, 21, of Sumner, was charged January 7th with DUI, driving without a license, driving without insurance, operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration and failure to maintain lane by Tift County Sheriff’s Office.

Elisha Tolbert, 20, of Warwick, was charged January 1st with driving without a license and operating a motor vehicle with suspended registration. GSP in Tifton

Henry Jones Jr., 65, of Oakfield, was charged December 29th with DUI, driving without lights and an open container violation by Tift County Sheriff’s Office .
