Man Hospitalized Due to Sylvester Shooting

Sylvester Police need your help in locating a person(s) involved in a shooting resulting in emergency transport of a 24-year old Sylvester man. See story below:





Octavious Roy Drayton, 24, of Sylvester remains stable today following surgery due to a gun shot wound in his chest area which apparently occurred at his Bridges Street home early this morning. Sylvester PoliceĀ InvestigatorĀ Kenneth Washington said the shooting likely happened around 2:00 A.M. Wednesday.

Police believe the gun shot wound, apparently from a hand gun, followed a struggle between the victim and the shooter at the residence.

SPD and EMS were called to the scene this morning after a male subject contacted E911 about the injury. Officials found the victim sitting on a couch inside the home. Drayton was rushed to Phoebe Putney Hospital in Albany.
